Kelley Knickerbocker19th century designer and craftsman William Morris once said, “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” Here at Seattle-based Rivenworks Mosaics we are continually inspired by the process of transforming the surfaces of everyday, functional objects and spaces into planes of visual and tactile artistry. In short, achieving the ultimate synergy
of the useful and the beautiful in a way that reflects and celebrates the unique style and sensibilities of each of our clients.

We work closely with each client to understand their vision for a particular surface and to interpret that vision in an initial design drawing. Then we return to the studio to lovingly hand cut and
place the thousands of tesserae – individual pieces of glass, unglazed porcelain, glazed ceramic, stone, or even found or recycled objects - that will form an exquisite, one-of-a-kind mosaic for installation in the client's prepared site.

Because each mosaic design and execution is unique, pricing for each project is customized based on design complexity, project size, type of materials selected, number of site visits required, etc.  An initial 45-minute consultation visit in the Seattle area may be scheduled for no cost, and our up-front design fees will be applied to the estimated cost of the contracted project.
